So we're going to start by getting to know the team from the Academy for Science and Design.
The Academy for Science and Design is a charter school in Nashua, New Hampshire, and it enrolls about 150 students and it is led by senior Captain Chris.
Now, Chris, you are not just the captain of the Granite State team.
You're also a co-captain of what other team?
I am a co-captain of our schools robotics team.
This is the first robotics team, right?
And so you've been working.
Have you had any robotics competitions yet?

And were you surprised that you were in the top 1% from Linkin Park?
Not at all.
Okay, fantastic.
And rounding out the team is Pranav Grover and you are also a musician, but what instrument you play?
I play the saxophone.
Now.
Do you play the saxophone in the school band at ASD or in a different ensemble?
No, I do not play in a band.
I have my own band.
Grover's Grooves Gurus with our two alternates, Eddie on the keytar and Danny on the drums.
Fantastic.
So the whole team is involved.
All right.
And that is the team for the Academy for Science and Design.
All right.
We turn our attention over to Manchester Central, and they're led by.
Captain Akshay, but not the first captain of a Granite State Challenge team in your family.
Tell us about that.

All right.
Joining Akshay is Colleen, who won a pretty prestigious award in her own right in 2023.

And that is the team from Manchester.
Central High School.
All right, teams, great to get to know you a little bit.
We're going to go into round two.
You don't need your signaling devices for this round because it is our three strikes and you're out round.
And the way this round works is that each team gets ten questions, one for each player as we go down the line and if you don't know the answer to the question, you can pass to your teammate.
Every team has three passes and we go until all ten questions are asked or until three strikes and you're out and just a reminder, there's always a little bit of a clue in the previous question to your question.
So see for those connections.
So we're going to start with the Academy for Science and Design.
And Chris, we will start with you.

I'd like to invite the alternates to come on up and join their teams in our 60 second rounds.
Teams get to work together as a unit.
We give each team ten questions in a category ten points for each correct response with a bonus of ten if you get them.
All right, you can work together as teams.
But we do take the captain's answer as the team answer, and we will start with the team trailing, which is Manchester Central.
