And we're going to start with a team from Newfound Regional High School.
Newfound Regional High School is located in the Lakes region of New Hampshire and is eight towns or so in and around surrounding Newfound Lake, just under 400 students.
And amongst that number is Captain Nick.
And Nick.
You have, you know, lots of players on greatest challenge have interesting cars and car stories.
But yours is particularly fascinating.
What kind of car do you drive?
I have a 1955 GMC truck.
Okay.
So where did this 1955 GMC truck come from?
It was initially my grandfather's and he bought it six years ago and my dad and I helped restore it.
Nice.
And so is this your day to day truck that you drive around?
Not day to day.
Okay.
That would be tough.
Not so easy to drive, is it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right, Nick is joined by Kinsey, who's been training for four years.
In what, Martial art.
Kajukenbo.
Okay.
And that's jujitsu, right?
A form of jiu jitsu.
And so what makes that different from other martial arts that we might be familiar with?
Well, it's a combination of karate, judo and jujitsu.
So has a bit of stand up fighting, getting on the ground and actually fighting on the ground.
So.
And so when you do this, are you competing or are you just kind of doing it for like the challenge and the fitness of it?
Yeah, just the challenge and the fitness, although there are competitions.
All right.
So we won't see you in the Octagon then?
No, probably not any time soon.
All right.
Evan got the opportunity to travel to, I assume, California, where you went running on an unusual running surface.
Redwoods.
So these are redwood trees?
Yeah.
So how do you run on a tree?
You climb up there and you run down it.
So is the tree is it a felled tree on the ground that you're running across?
Yeah.
And how high off the ground were you when you were doing this?
Probably ten feet off the ground.
And you live to tell the tale?
Yes.
All right.
Well, that's good.
All right.
And rounding out the team is Lauren, who is a prolific reader.
How many books, how many pages did you read last year?
So last year, I read 26 books, which totaled just under 8000 pages.
And so how do you find the time to do this?
I read on my lunch breaks at work and any time during like flex or free time during school.
Pretty much, Right?
Excellent.
Do you have a favorite from this past year?
Six of crows.
Six of crows.

Plymouth is just north of actually Newfound.
We've got a battle of the 93 corridor exits 23 and 25 going on here and about 650 students from Plymouth and about nine surrounding towns led by senior Captain Reagan, who's with her family, has what I think is a clear favorite television program.
Yes, we're on our fourth rewatch of the West Wing.
Okay.
So how do you get to the fourth rewatch of it?
Well, we started back and COVID and then we decided that, you know, work wasn't really important.
So we just went right into it.
So do you get to the end and then you just go right back to the beginning and start again?
We took a short break and then we got bored, so we just went back for it.
All right.
Excellent.
I will have to check that one out then.
Khalil is next up on the team.
And we've talked a little bit about some music that you've done in the past, but you wrote here that your favorite composer is someone I've never heard of.
Who is it?
His name is Rachmaninoff.
Rachmaninoff.
And what is it about Rachmaninoff that you appreciate so much?
Well, I appreciate that.
He doesn't normally just rely on melodies such as the classical composers and the romantic composers did before him.
And he kind of incorporates the the chordal changes with his melody.
So it has this overtone feeling to every every aspect of his pieces.
And what is the primary instrument he's composing on?
Yeah.
Piano.
And can you play any of his pieces?
I he has very big hands, so it's hard to learn.
But I am attempting to learn his second piano concerto.
All right, well, good luck.
And we'll we'll have to wait to listen to that once you've got it down pat.
Now, a different kind of music is the favorite of our next player.
Paul, what is your favorite kind of music?
I like eighties rock and glam eighties rock, glam metal.
Now that's a little bit more in my zone.
And when I was growing up, that was stuff that we listened to.
How did you get into that?
Well, I like a lot of retro culture, that sort of thing.
And my family likes that too.
So I think that's how I got into it.
All right.
Excellent.
Do you have a favorite band, favorite song, anything like that, or is there too many to choose from?
There's just far too many.
Far too many.
Take it all in.
All right.
Speaking of someone who takes it all in.
Ethan here has been to Italy enough times, I think, to take it all in.
How many times you've been to Italy and Italy?
Four times.
Four times now.
You must have family there or from there.
Tell us about that.
Yeah, my.
My grandfather was born in Bologna, and that's where we always visit because, you know, we have we also have a lot of family there from him and his as well.
All right.
So if I'm going to go to Bologna, what should I make sure to not miss while I'm there?
Well, they're most famous for the two towers that they have because Boyne used to have a lot more of them.
But they're they're definitely their most recognizable landmark.
I always definitely go to the towers.
It will be all right.
And that is the team from Plymouth Regional High School.
All right, teams, great to get to know you.
We're going to roll right into round two and round two.
We don't need the signaling devices because we are going to be doing our three strikes and you're out round in this round.
Each team gets ten questions.
We go down the line player by player until all ten questions are asked or until we get three incorrect responses or three strikes and you're out.
Now, just as a reminder, if you don't know the answer, you can pass to your teammate next to you.
Each team has three passes and each question has a little bit of a clue to it in the previous question.
So Nick, on Newfound, we're going to start with you and this is your question.

10 to 1.
10 to 1.
