This week, we have our first of two semifinal matchups.
We've got two teams here hoping to make their way to the Granite State Super Challenge.

I am the only one in my school that has worn all three uniforms available to the Marching Band.
So there's three different types of uniforms that the marching band has.
What are they?
The color guard uniform, the marching band uniform and the drum major.
Okay, so you were on the color guard at one point, marched in the band, another point.
But now you're the drum major.

And so that's like the fancy, fancy uniform.

And Liam rounding out the team, volunteered at a camp over the summer.
What did you do?
Yeah, so I volunteered at camp convention this summer where I led a group of second graders through kind of an introductory course to different STEM things and invention engineering type stuff.

What's one of the cooler things that you built with those second graders?
I think the coolest one was probably they made little robots and they got to kind of commit it where to go and stuff.

But that was not your first time here on the Granite State Challenge set.
Tell us about it.
Yeah, I got to watch my cousin Liam perform from the studio audience about eight years ago.

And so he was on.
What team was he on?
He was on Manchester Center.
He was on the Manchester Central team.
So nine year old, you was in our audience here and did you think to yourself at the time in in nine years time or how many years time, eight years time, I'm going to be up here.
I was like, I didn't know any of the questions.
I'm like, That's super hard.
I don't think I'll ever be able to do it.
But you know, you're here.
You are a testament to the process.

Next up is Matt, who I mean, this is a lifetime hobby you wrote on here that you love to do.
Tell us what it is.
Well, I. I do a lot of fishing with my dad, and it's just a nice little pastime we have.
We did catch up on a boat out in the lake fishing for bass.

It's a big highlight of my summers.
And spring's nice.
So usually out on the lake for bass.
In the summers in Springs.
What about the winters?
Well, we haven't tried ice fishing yet.
We're relatively new to New Hampshire, so we haven't had a chance.
