(Tom) Shortly before 9:00 last night.
(Callum) Have you tried to reach him on the phone?
(Tom) No answer.
And he wouldn't just up and go somewhere without sayin'.
I'm thinkin' there's been an accident.
(Marlene) Okay.
We'll take a look.
(soft, tense music) (cows mooing) ♪ I'm hoping this Donal guy's wakin' up on his mate's couch.
(Callum) Well, if he's doing the walk of shame, that makes two of us.
You know what I mean?
(Marlene) Yeah.
(Callum) Well, the lid's been left off.
That's not usual, right?
(Nicole) No, Cub, it's not.
(Callum gags) ♪ The crust's been disturbed.

-What is it?
-There's some blood.
And by the looks of these boot prints, two people were at the edge.

What, are you thinkin' foul play?

(Marlene) Cool your jets, Cub.
♪ (phone ringing) ♪ Leila... ♪ -It's herself.
-Not you, the fella who insists on being the small spoon.
(Finn) Well, I just was always told that women liked being cuddled afterwards.
(Marlene clears her throat) You said on the phone there's been a suspected farm accident.
(Marlene) Yeah, if not something a lot more serious.
Did you get talking to Siobhan last night?

(Marlene) Pastor Gray's an old family friend.
(Callum) Firefighters have pulled a body out of the pit.
(soft, tense music) ♪ (camera shutter clicks) ♪ (Leila) So let's say one set of footprints are the victim's.
Who owns this set?
(Marlene) Pastor Gray said he hadn't been near the pit in days.

-And the blood?
-Well, farmin's tough work.
There's lots of ways someone could cut themselves.
(Finn) Let's stick to the working theory that this was a farm accident and discreetly rule out anything suspicious, yeah?
(Leila) Yeah.
(Callum) Be careful, watch yourself.
Taking into account that as a kid everything I knew about the countryside was from Watership Down, can I ask... (Marlene) What's a slurry pit?
(Leila) I mean, I feel like I can smell what it is, but why is it so dangerous?
(Marlene) So, the cattle's excrement falls through the slats and then it's stored there until it's used to fertilize the fields in the spring.
It's full of dangerous gases.
-And if you fall into that-- -Got it.
-It's no way to go.
-Nope.
(Leila) So this Pastor Gray runs a church and a farm?
(Marlene) No, he doesn't run a church.
He's a street preacher.
Givin' out tracks, doing sermons in the town centers up and down the country.
(Finn) Which is why some of the locals love him and the others loathe him.

♪ Pastor Gray.
♪ I'm sorry to have to inform you that we have found a body in the slurry pit.
♪ Donal?
(Finn) We believe so, yes.
♪ (Barry) Sorry.

I've never seen a solicitor so keen to do a bit of farm work.
(Marlene) Guess he's protectin' his precious inheritance.
(Leila) In that get-up, no.
He's up to something else.
♪ (cows mooing) ♪ (suspenseful music) ♪ (bag rustles) (soft, tense music) ♪ (Leila) Look what I found hidden in the milking parlor.
♪ Do you recognize them?
♪ Okay, I bet we'll get a match on the tread of the footprints by the pit.
So, with that in mind, do either of you recognize these boots?
♪ Yes.

♪ (Marlene) What do you think?
(Leila) More and more it feels like assault gone wrong.
Pastor Gray finds out about Donal's sexuality, loses it, a punch is thrown.
(Marlene) Can we--can we, um, step over here?
I don't think Pastor Gray would have reacted with such fury.
