Is not only breaking new ground with her tasty beers, but also with inclusivity and sustainability.
A female owned and operated company.
They work with the Tohono Oodham Nation 60 day corn.
Which uses less water than industrially grown corn to make their crisp, refreshing, blonde ale.
Ayla Kapahi is the first female head brewer of the state.
And has an uncanny ability for inventing award winning, easy drinking flavors.
And the name of the beer is?
- Pueblo... - Viejo.
Pueblo Viejo.
Its perfect.
Okay, cheers to the first one.
Cheers.
And the 60 day corn.
Absolutely.
Its so yummy.
Its so delicious, Its crisp.
A little bit sweet.
Its a little bit earthy.
Im swishing it around in my mouth for the body and the mouth feel.
Its very effervescent.
It drinks very much like a Pilsner or Lager, so very dry, and refreshing finish.
Its perfect.
It didnt pour over, Im getting good at this.
Im switching professions, Im moving to Tucson.
Definitely.
Okay so this is Las Hermanas.
So this one has been brewed by women on both sides of the border.
And you know, its just such an honor to brew, can you imagine?
Over 40 women brewers coming together on both sides of the border.
Very different from - the Pueblo beer.
- Very different, yes.
This feels stronger.
This does feel much more bitter in a really pleasant way.
Exactly.
Oh this is... yum.
Thank you.
Two more glasses.
Youre good, you should work here.
I... Im enjoying this so much its kinda ridiculous.
I love serving people, like I love talking to people, so I can just imagine how this is just so much fun.
So you have Horchata beer.
Yes.
I love Horchata, so much.
I cant imagine it in a beer.
So let me, okay.
Found it.
It smells like Horchata!
Oh good.
- This is crazy!
- It should, it should its a Horchata beer.
It smells like cinnamon, it smells like sweetened condensed milk.
Our beers are inspired by where we live, by our community.
So, of course Horchata is so popular here on both sides of the border.
And we thought... why not brew a Horchata inspired beer.
It smells so much like Horchata, this is insane.
Alright, lets give it a taste.
Oh wow.
This is my favorite.
I cant stand how much Im liking this Wow, thank you such a high compliment.
Youre the Horchata queen so...
I love Horchata!
This is brilliant.
Cus Horchata does have that creamy, milky, sweet taste.
Exactly.
And the fragrance is just so beautiful, so the experience of tasting it and smelling it is so complete.
Exactly, and its still a beer right, so we dont want it to be too sweet.
Its so tasty, its so good.
Thank you so much for letting me in, and for letting me really in behind here.
I now want to stay here and serve beer.
Yes you should work here.
More cheers.
Thank you Pati, we love having you here.
- Thank you.
- Cheers.
