Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipThe IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, which we call MoCNA, shows only contemporary indigenous art.
And that's significant.
We're seeing contemporary indigenous art recognized at new levels.
And I'm going to# say the museum has a part in all of that.
MoCNA is the only institution that is focused# on presenting and collecting contemporary Native American art.
We're just 100% contemporary#focused.
MoCNA is a university art museum.
So we have a museum studies program to inventory# the school collection and practicum courses for our students to learn how to handle works of#art, exhibition, design and get training in the field.
Initially the museum was on the college#campus and that relocated to downtown Santa Fe in 1990.
We have almost 10,000 works in our#collection.
MoCNA was founded on student, faculty and staff works and we show# indigenous peoples from around the world.
So we're contributing through the dialogue at#the national and international level.
And I like to say everything we do is for the students.
We're interested in training the next generation.
