IAIA has always been interested in research and#we knew that we could improve the research capability of scholars and students.
We#expanded and we were able to renovate the building on the campus of IAIA and bring over# the archives.
The Institute of American Indian Arts school collection has about 10,000 works made by our IAIA students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
It's basically a focus of uniting art, archives, and artists and making it more holistic.
So when someone does a search, they'll#get everything in terms of the art collection, but they'll also get everything that's in the# archives related to it.
So coming more from an indigenous perspective where everything relates both the art, the artists themselves and the archive materials speaking to each other and collaborating and enhancing all of it all at once.
