I have lived in Exeter for probably about 30 years.
Give or take.
So I came because of a job and I fell in love with the seacoast for the first time.
After moving a lot and having a lot of different jobs and a lot of different places.
I just fell in love with the area.
The impact you can make here, and just how friendly and open the community is.
So I'm one of five, and my youngest brother had followed me.
He and his wife had followed me to Portsmouth, and then they moved to Exeter and bought a house on Union Street.
It's such a diverse and vibrant town with so many independent businesses and artists and musicians, and it's just really rich in different opportunities.
There's just so much to do and so much to be a part of here.
And, it's an easy place to live.
It's not hard to go downtown and, peruse one of the many, many independent, businesses downtown.
It's easy to get involved in the chamber or WomenAid or lots of other nonprofits.
The Y is a great place to socialize and get together and make friends.
I think it has everything we are the recipients of tremendous investment in kind of public lands and public beauty.
And a big proponent of that was Augustus Swasey, who was a farmer, inventor.
He was a Renaissance man.
He owned Fort Rock farm.
He created Swasey Parkway, which used to be a dump, and he gave the land to turn it into a park.
He donated the funds to build the bandstand.
So it's full of, history and, public donation of land.
And I think people really are trying to keep up.
The beauty of town and the beauty of this gorgeous river and ecosystem that we have going on.
We have, herons and, eagles.
We have two eagles that live near the water, lots of herons and seals.
It's, it's a just a beautiful place.
It feels like a gift to be brought into people's lives as authentically as it's happened here.
And I think that's the most magical thing about Exeter.
As you can become a part of the community and become a part of other people's lives.
And it's meaningful.
